Mother/Daughter Apron Giveaway

February 5, 2016 11 Comments

Gilmore Girls, Season 6 Episode 15 – A Vineyard Valentine

Lorelai – And you’re wearing an apron.

Rory – It’s so my clothes don’t get wrecked.

Lorelai – You’ve not worn an apron since you saw “the sound of music” and you put one on so you’d look like sister Maria, and you made a big crucifix out of Popsicle sticks.

mother daughter apron

See these really awesome Mother/Daughter Marvel aprons? My Mom made them. She’s crazy talented, and lucky for you, she’s also generous because she sent this set to giveaway!

And because I’m feeling generous I’m making it super easy to enter. Like My Facebook page – FanGirlsCook and come back and leave a comment (preferably a nice one, this is a family blog). That’s it. Easy Peasy.

You can wear them to bake, or to reenact the Sound of Music, the choice is yours.

Winner will be drawn at random (by rafflecopter) Monday Feb. 8th 2016 9:30am (CST) and announced on this page immediately following. So don’t forget to check back to see if your name was chosen.

Must be 18 years of age to enter and a legal US resident.

Winner will receive the exact apron set pictured (which was worn only to take this photo).

(This photo makes me laugh, and is a clear representation of why I can’t get stuff done with my kids home.)

If the winner wants to post a picture of themselves, in their aprons (baking and/or reenacting the Sound of Music), on my Facebook page that would make me smile. Just sayin’.

Good Luck!

Patriotic Hand Pies

Gilmore Girls Season 5 Episode 10 – But Not as Cute as Pushkin

“In my hand, ladies and gentlemen, sits the true advantage of dating a diner owner. I am never more than ten feet away from pie” ~ Lorelai Gilmore

Patriotic Hand Pies

I may not be a diner owner, but I’m pretty sure my husband has the same sentiment towards me. He is, and will forever be, in arms reach of Pie. Or Cookies. Or caramel.

This is also why we are never more than 10 feet from an elliptical machine. But that’s besides the point.

gilmore girls

Gilmore Girls remains my ALL TIME favorite show. Single mom Lorelai Gilmore and her perfect, book obsessed, daughter Rory had the mother/daughter relationship that everyone wanted to be. They were best friends. They talked endlessly. They drank copious amounts of coffee and referenced pop culture in way that left your head spinning. And Stars Hollow with its perfect town square and festivals and quirky, albeit nosey, well-meaning residents was where you wanted to live. You wanted coffee and crabby banter with Luke. You wanted to be best friends with Suki. You wanted to smack Taylor. You wanted to be a Gilmore Girl.

Okay, when I say you, I really mean me. I wanted to be a Gilmore Girl. I WANT to be a Gilmore Girl.

I think I’d be perfect Gilmore. I’m funny, sarcastic, drink tons of coffee, and I bake. A lot.

Like these patriotic hand pies. (I can almost hear Lorelai saying “Hand Pies, dirty”) These would be perfect to serve at the Dragonfly Inn, for the 4th of July. Served with a scoop of vanilla ice cream, and a cup of coffee from Luke’s. I’m just saying.

Please let me be a Gilmore Girl?
